TGV, Thalys, Talgo and Eurostar are different trains with access to Montpellier! If you fly to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport you can also take a high speed train directly from the airport that will get you in Montpellier, which is a nice and greener alternative to taking a connecting flight to Montpellier. Since the 1st of July Montpellier has two train stations: the downtown train station, called Montpellier Saint Roch, and a new station a few km from downtown, called Montpellier Sud de France. The Montpellier Saint Roch station is within walking distance to the congress venue and in the down town centre, with easy access to hotels, restaurants etc. Access to Montpellier Sud de France by public transportation from downtown currently involves connecting by tram AND bus: .a public transportation (TAM) shuttle connects this train station to the tram station Place de France on the tram line 1 (one-way ticket at 1.60 € ; every 15 minutes at peak hours). You may consult shuttle time schedules on the TAM web site (unfortunately only in French):

The train company web site advises to allow for at least 40 minutes when commuting to/from the Montpellier Sud de France station from/to downtown Montpellier.

In any case, if you wish to travel by train pay attention to the train station your train is traveling to or from when scheduling your trip.

Montpellier is served by A9 and A75 motorways.
